SUNDAY ADULT BIBLE CLASSES
March – May 2008
10:15 a.m.

Auditorium Class – GALATIANS, EPHESIANS & PHILIPPIANS

Paul’s epistles to the Galatians, Ephesians and Philippians offer remarkable lessons on the establishment, growth, worship and fellowship of the church.   Paul provides directives for making their service to the Lord effective and acceptable.  Sam McClanahan, Scott Pryor, T.L. Hopkins

Small Fellowship Hall – THE AGONY & GLORY OF THE CROSS

Take an in-depth look at the most dramatic event in the history of mankind  -- the death of the Son of God on a cross, as a sacrifice for our sins.  What is our response to such an incredible gift?  Don Beard, Tim Gannon, Jerry Maxwell

Large Fellowship Hall B103-1 - FIRST SAMUEL

Much is made in our world today of the “character” issue.  The Old Testament book of 1 Samuel is a character study of two men, Samuel and Saul, used by God.  This study will look at the issues that confronted these men, how they responded, and how believers today learn from them.  Carl Seigenthaler

Large Fellowship Hall B103-2 - FELLOWSHIP IN CHRIST (March)

This is a comprehensive study of our fellowship with God and His children.  What is “Fellowship in Christ?”  Who determines it?  Judging others!  What is the purpose and process of discipline?  Patrick Jones

Large Fellowship Hall B103-2 - DAVID: HIS LIFE & PSALMS (April-May)

Walk side-by-side with David through the victories and failures which shaped his faith and writings.  From shepherd to king, national hero and outlaw, giant slayer and poet, adulterer…sharp contrasts characterized his life.  Yet he loved God and served Him.  We can learn from David’s struggles today.  Don Turskey

B142, College – CONTEMPORARY ISSUES

Using group discussion and individual research to first identify common themes that challenge young adults, the class then applies Christian principles and examples to help find meaningful solutions.  Kris Dillehay

B142, Young Couples – NEW TESTAMENT CHRISTIANITY in 21st CENTURY

This class will study Biblical truths that, when applied, will transform our lives for Christ in the 21st century.  David Peck

B144 – THE AGONY & GLORY OF THE CROSS

By examining the most dramatic event in the history of mankind, the death of the Son of God on a cross as a sacrifice for our sins, we begin to understand the magnitude of what happened.  What is our response?  Lynn Watson, Mark Wrye

B146 – ESSENTIALS OF CHRISTIANITY

Firmly grounding Christians in the fundamentals of our faith is the purpose of this  class which meets September-May.  Class is pre-enrolled.  Roy Nance      2-27-08

WEDNESDAY ADULT BIBLE CLASSES

March - May 2008
7:00 p.m.

 Auditorium – ROMANS VIDEO CLASS

The inspired words of the apostle Paul come alive in this dynamic video study of Romans by a gifted evangelist and teacher, the late Richard Rogers.  Man stands in need of the grace and mercy of God, who reaches down in Christ to justify men by faith, apart from works of the law.  Tony Holt

Fellowship Hall B103-1 – GREAT MEN OF THE BIBLE

Examine the lives of great Bible characters and experience the contrast between those who served God and those who served self. Thirteen men from Asa, Ahab,  and Jeroboam I of the Old Testament to James, Timothy, and Barnabas in the New Testament, will be covered.  Norman Kennedy

Dorcas Rm, Ladies – PHILIPPIANS:  SHINE LIKE STARS

In this most encouraging letter, Paul provided the Philippians very practical instruction on how all of their needs (and ours today) can be fulfilled in Christ Jesus.  Joy, peace, contentedness – can all be found only when we adopt the mind of Christ.  By adorning our lives with these gems of truth, we can shine like stars as we hold out the Word of life.  Debbie Mankin, Debbie Wrye

B142 – College – STUDYING SIN SERIOUSLY

This in-depth study covers every aspect of the thing God hates—sin.  Included are the origin of sin, what it is, what it will do, proper and improper attitudes toward, helps in overcoming, forgiveness of, and other aspects. David Powell

B144-1, Ladies - TRANSFORMING YOUR MARRIAGE (March)

Think of this study as a new lens, a “heavenly perspective” through which to view your husband.  Biblical insights will help you see your husband with new eyes.  Marriage can be renewed, even in an imperfect world with an imperfect husband, because we serve a perfect God.  Mindy Peck, Myrtle Schaffer, Deborah Pruett

B144-2, Men - UNDERSTANDING YOUR WIFE (March)

“You husbands likewise, live with your wives in an understanding way…”  1 Peter 3:7 (NASB).  Do you want your wife to understand you?  This scripture-based study explains a woman’s deepest needs, shows a man how to meet those needs, and gives simple steps to strengthen marriage.  David Peck, Don Turskey

B144, Ladies & Men – BETTER MARRIAGE VIDEO SEMINAR (April-May)

Any marriage can be better.  This video seminar provides insights for understanding your spouse, God’s plan for intimacy in marriage, and practical solutions to common relationship woes.  Don Turskey

Kingwood's
Vision Statement

The Church at Kingwood will be an example of God’s eternal plan and purpose. This will be accomplished through Bible study and worship according to God’s Word, reaching out far and near to the lost and those in need to the Glory of God

Kingwood's Theme

  • Building Faith, Family, and Fellowship

Kingwood's Theme Verses

  • Phillipians 3:13-15 (NIV) Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us who are mature should take such a view of things.
